Profiles of the Management Team
Aparup Sengupta - Group CEO and Managing Director
Aparup brings in an enviable legacy of sterling professional experience in the IT and IT services domain. He is a serial entrepreneur with three successful start-ups: 24/7Customer, India's first CRM services company; Ion Idea, an IT Services Company based out of Fairfax Virginia and Think Harbor, a leading BPO Consulting company funded by Bank Am and Nomura are his other successful start up initiatives. During the span of his two-decade long career, he has managed complex IT projects in CMC for more than 8 years, set-up India's first Internetworking channel for Microland in Bangalore, India and orchestrated several re-engineering projects in India and abroad. Aparup has been the Lead Assessor and Member of the Jury of the CII Business Excellence Award, equivalent to the Malcolm Baldrige award in US and Deming award in Japan. He also served as the Chairman of the BPO Steering Committee of Assocham, India's Leading Industry forum. He has also been an Ambassadorial scholar to the US in 1994. Aparup is a graduate in Electrical Engineering from University of Calcutta.
Richard Ferry - CEO, North America
Rick was earlier at Precision Response Corporation (PRC) as Executive Vice President for Business Development. At PRC, Rick participated in taking the company through a successful initial public offering, a secondary public offering, and engineering the merger of the company with a multi billion dollar publicly traded company. In 1999 while retaining his responsibilities as Executive Vice President, Rick was appointed to the position of President of PRC's newly created operating subsidiary, prcnetcare.com, a venture created to provide cutting edge service to a burgeoning e-commerce market. Prior to joining PRC, Rick served as an executive at several companies in the industry, including Advanced Telemarketing Corporation (ATC), which is now a part of Aegis, where he was Vice President of Operations. At ATC, Rick had responsibility, at various times, for operations, information technology, and sales and marketing, and was successful in attracting and expanding relationships with several prestigious clients.
Sandip Sen - Chief Marketing Officer
Sandip was the founder CEO and COO of Customer First Services which was formed as a result of a management buyout that he engineered in 2001 with a group of NRI Angel Investors. During his tenure at the helm of Customer First Services, the company became one of India's largest domestic call center companies with 1,400 seats across 6 locations employing over 2,000 people. In January 2006, Customer First Services became part of Aegis. Prior to founding Customer First Services, Sandip has worked in senior management positions in the FMCG and the Telecom sector. He has worked as the Head of Marketing and later as the Network Head at Hutchison Paging. Sandip has an honors degree in economics from Presidency College (Calcutta) and an MBA from the Xavier Labor Relations Institute (Jamshedpur). Sandip also teaches Consumer Behavior for the MBA curriculum at the Xavier Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship (XIME).
Sudhir Agarwal - Chief Operating Officer
Sudhir joined Aegis from GE Capital International Services after spending 7 years with GECIS. GECIS (today known as Genpact) is the largest BPO in India having over 25,000 people globally. He has varied experience in the BPO industry from Migrations, Business Development to Operations. In his last role, he helped set up the Remote Marketing business for GECIS Global across India, Hungary and China, which focuses on Telemarketing and Tele sales products. He has also worked for HCL Comnet for a couple of years in India. Sudhir holds an MBA from Manchester Business School in Strategy and International Business.
C.M Sharma - Chief Financial Officer
C.M. Sharma is a qualified chartered accountant leading Aegis' M&A strategy, its financial reengineering, resources mobilization and management planning, etc. and is backed by 15 years of experience in corporate financial management by virtue of his work in various industries including BPO, Chemicals, Textile, Steel, Electronics, etc. Prior to joining Aegis, he was working as the CFO of Colwell & Salmon, a call center companies operating from facilities in New York and Delhi.
Rahul Kamalakar - Chief Technology Officer
Rahul comes with over 21 years of leadership experience in the field of IT Services and Process Transitions. After starting his career with Wipro Ltd - one of the earliest Indian tech companies to be listed on the NYSE - he went on to work with multinational companies like IBM Global Services - heading their Network Services, and Computer Associates - leading their Enterprise Infrastructure Management practice (UniCenter TNG). In April 2000, he joined California based BPO start-up venture, 24/7Customer as a founding employee. He led services for clients like Convergys, Citibank, Cendant Corp, Microsoft, MBNA and FedEx (Europe). He was a key executive member in transitioning services for Aviva plc - a leading European Insurer, which eventually scaled to 3800 associates and 5 centers. He joined Essar Group in Feb 2005 as Head -Transitions, and has been taking the leadership on the design, procurement and implementation of the new Technology upgrade to VoIP within Aegis US.
Ishita Swarup - Head (Special Projects and Staffing)
Ishita worked with Cadburys in the Sales and Marketing department for a few years before founding Orion Dialog in 1994. She is a pioneer in the ITES sector in India and has been instrumental in making Orion a leading player in the domestic call center market with strong focus on delivery and quality. Under her leadership, since year 2000 Orion has been a preferred outsourced partner for various telecom service providers across India. Orion has since been acquired by Aegis. She is a graduate in Economics from Delhi University with a post graduation diploma in business management.
Kannan Ramasamy - Strategic Initiatives and M&A
Kannan is one of the pioneers in the Indian BPO industry by virtue of his integral role as a member of the senior management team at GECIS (GE Capital International Services now known as Genpact) both in the US and in India. He was instrumental in the initiation of GE Capital's Consumer Finance business in India. The positions that he has held at GECIS have included senior management roles at GECIS India, VP-Sales and Marketing (Global Automotive Financial Services) and founding GE Capital Consumer Finance Division. Prior to joining Aegis, Kannan was President for the US operations of the Scandent Group which is a full fledged technology services company. Kannan holds an engineering degree from the Indian Institute of Technology and a Masters in Business Administration from the Indian Institute of Management.
Vishal Mehra - Chief People Officer
Vishal carries with him a total of eighteen years of experience working with companies like Unilever, Citigroup and RRDonnelly. He began his career with Arthur Andersen in New York as a business consultant. He returned to India for a short entrepreneurial stint before joining Unilever in India. He was instrumental in building HR practices for the Zenta Group and Citigroup's BPO business. Prior to joining Aegis, he held the position of Head HR, Asia-Pacific with RRDonnelly. Vishal holds an MBA from Temple University in Philadelphia (USA).
Neeti Khaitan - Chief Relationship Officer
Neeti has worked in a variety of roles in organizations centered around telecommunications, customer service, call center services and BPO operations. Prior to initiating her role as the Chief Relationship Officer for Aegis Communications Group in Irving, Neeti was the Chief Executive Officer and President of e-Telequest, a call center company in Phoenix, Arizona. She has contributed in the areas of business development, strategic planning and organizational effectiveness. She played a very key role in Qualcomm's entry into the Indian Market. She has served as the offshoring and outsourcing consultant to the China Call Center Committee and advises many governmental offices on the same. Neeti is also an active member of the Young Entrepreneurs Organization, the Dallas Round Table, a Charter Member of the TIE (The Indus Entrepreneurs), American Indian Foundation (AIF), a founder member of the South Central Board of the American TeleServices Association (ATA) and a key executive of the Greater Irving-Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce. She has completed her Bachelors in Business Administration from Pepperdine University, California.
Chandra Venkataramani - Senior Vice President (Operations)
Chandra oversees operations of all our centers in the US. In 2000, Chandra founded Swift Response, a BPO company with significant operations in India. Swift Response was acquired by Aegis in 2005. Chandra has over 15 years of experience in managing various teams from IT to operations. Chandra has served as the Director of Supply Chain Management at a major electronics retailer in the Northeast and also as a Vice President for Corporate Profitability at JP Morgan Chase. He holds a Masters degree in Industrial Engineering from Louisiana Tech University and a Masters degree in Business Administration from New York University's Stern School of Business.
Carol Litchford - Senior Vice President (Customer Success)
Carol has over thirty years experience in Customer Relationship Management, Operations and Total Quality Management. During her tenure with Aegis, Carol has played a key role in developing and implementing quality and operational processes for the organization. Prior to joining Aegis, Carol had a successful career with Xerox Corporation where she held various positions within Customer Administration and Quality operations. Carol holds a BA Public Admin/Business from Dallas Baptist University and completed the Edwin L. Cox Executive Management Program from Southern Methodist University, Dallas,TX.
